Halloween Pillowcase Dress

I found these cute fabrics a while back at Hobby Lobby and knew that I must make them into a dress for Abby.  It actually turned out to be more of a top because I shortened it so she can wear it with jeans and a black turtleneck (or tank top if it doesn't cool down soon!).

Here's a closer look:

We found the cute candy corn necklace at Market Street last year.

The picture quality is terrible, I know.  My camera is on the fritz, and I desperately need a new one.  Anyway, this dress only took a couple of hours to make.  I can't wait for her to wear it!

I'm about to start working on a Christmas themed dress (or top, haven't decided yet) using these fabrics.

I'll post pictures of Abby wearing the top soon!

The One and Only Wyatt!!

Oh, my little Wyatt.  The Tornado.  Monkey.  Onery and sweet, all rolled into one.  Let me share a story about a little incident that happened last week.

After dropping Abby off at school, Wyatt and I came home and did our morning routine.  He was not feeling well, so I laid down with him.  After he fell asleep (and he was asleep), I dozed off.  BIG mistake!  He woke up before me, and like a ninja, got into the refrigerator and proceeded to crack 9 raw eggs ALL over the house.  I mean egg yolk all over the carpet, dripping from various furniture.  It was an absolute mob scene.  I woke up to him handing me baby wipes.  I guess he realized the mess needed to be cleaned!

I did not take pictures because I was too upset.  Fortunately, we were able to find a carpet cleaning company that could make an emergency visit to get the mess cleaned up.  We have also been finding lots of Sharpie marker scribbles all over the walls.  Ugh.  No matter how hard I try to keep things out of his reach, he always seems to find a way!

This is just a small taste of this little guy.  Although he can be a rascal, he is also a sweet, snuggly, Mama's boy.  Love him!!

Sweet Abby

Today was picture day at school so I decided to roll Abby's hair in sponge rollers last night.  I'm surprised that she actually kept them, but she did and her hair turned out really cute this morning!  We were in such a rush this morning that I completely forgot to take a picture of her, but I did get one of her with the rollers in.  She laughed hysterically when she saw herself and told me not to show anyone the picture.  But it's too cute not to share!

This one is from the fair last week.  She talked me into letting her get her face painted even though I knew it would be washed off in a couple of hours.

She finally lost her first tooth last month (and was thrilled, by the way!).  The one right next to it is about to fall out too!

The Tooth Fairy went a little overboard since this was her first lost tooth.  I told her that she got extra money this time since it was so special but not to expect that much everytime.  (Otherwise the Tooth Fairy would go broke!)

Tomorrow I'll post some pictures of Wyatt and some of the onery things he's been up too!!

Things I'm Loving...

FALL!!  I'm so glad that it's finally here, despite the fact that today's high is supposed to be around 90.  Ugh!  I'm ready for cooler temps and falling leaves.

Gold Canyon Candle in Pumpkin Pie.  So yummy!!

My new stacking mugs from World Market.  Love the way they add a splash of color plus they are the perfect size.

My cozy ballet slippers.  I love wearing these around the house.  They make my feet feel good!

Pumpkin Patches.  We are going to our local pumpkin patch this weekend to load up on pumpkins and hay bales so I can complete my outdoor fall decorating.  I'll post pictures when it's all done!

New Blogger!

Well, I've decided to take the plunge and start a blog.  I'm an avid blog reader, so I thought this would be a fun way to document our daily lives.  More posts to come soon!
