A Sweet Visitor

Recently, we had a really sweet little visitor stop by our house...my nephew Trey!  We don't get to see him nearly enough since he lives in Perryton, but I love it when I do get to see him.  He has the cutest curls and the brightest smile!

Okay, so he's not actually smiling in the picture (or any of the other ones I took!) but trust me when I say his smile is the best!

Look at those curls!  Trey and Wyatt loved playing WonderPets!

We love you, Trey!!  Come back and see us soon!

Chapeau Sous-Vetements, Part Trois

Let me translate that for you.  Underwear Hat, Part 3.  Yes, it's back...again!  You may remember from  THIS post and THIS one too, how much Wyatt loves to wear underwear on his head.  Just when we think he's finally getting the hang of wearing them on his rear end instead, I find this...

Allow me to explain this photo.  I was about to turn in for the night and was doing my routine "kid check" to make sure my kiddos were safe and snug in their beds.  When I went to open Wyatt's door, it wouldn't budge.  Panicking a little, I pushed harder and saw that he was the obstacle in front of the door.  It was dark but I knew right away what was on his head, so I grabbed the camera and started snapping away in the dark (like any rational person at 11:00pm).  I finally got his "sleep mask" off his head and got him back to bed.

At least he keeps the bedtime routine interesting!

Girls' Day!

Since yesterday was Friday and the very last weekday left of spring break (sniff, sniff), Abby and I decided that we needed a girls' day out.  After dropping Wyatt off at daycare, we headed to eat some breakfast at The Donut Stop.  Not the healthiest choice, but it was delicious and gave us the sugar boost we needed to start our day!

Next we headed to Barnes and Noble for a little browsing.  I love looking around in bookstores and usually find several books I want, but we were mainly just killing a little time before our next activity....

The Discovery Center!!  It is our local science museum/center geared toward children.  They have recently renovated and put in some new exhibits (plus our membership was about to expire) so we decided we needed to check it out.  (Just a brief note:  We went as a family a couple of weeks ago, so Wyatt got to check it out too!)  We watched two fun shows in the Space Theater which is something we can't usually do when Wyatt is with us.

The new dinosaur exhibit is so neat!  The dinosaurs are robotic so they move and make sounds.

The Triceratops babies.  Aren't they cute hatching out of their eggs?

Abby standing in front of a T-Rex.  It looks like he is hunting her!

After the dinosaurs, we headed over to the "geometry playground" for some fun.  Can you spot Abby hanging on the edge?

Ride 'em, Cowgirl!

Bed of nails.

After the Discovery Center, we headed to McDonald's for lunch (Abby's choice, not mine).  We had to wait forever for our food because there was apparently some hold up in the kitchen.  We got a little bit of a show when the man in front of us got pretty upset over having to wait for his fries!

After lunch, we went to Ulta so that I could give Abby a "makeover".  I put a little eyeshadow, blush, and lipgloss on her, and she was one happy girl!

Shopping was up next, of course!  We bought Abby some spring clothes from Kohl's

Part of our loot.

How cute are these shoes?  Abby has the tiniest foot (she's almost 7 and still wears a 10-11 in toddlers.  It makes her so mad!) so we are limited in the shoe selection.

We found these gladiator sandals at Target.  I wanted her to get the sensible black pair that would go with everything, but in true Abby fashion, she chose the bright turquoise ones with a bejeweled angel fish embellishment. :)

We finished up our fun day by going grocery shopping at Market Street.  It was a lot of fun spending time with my sweet girl.

We're already planning our next girls' day out...manis and pedis!!

New Shoes

Wearing uncomfortable dress shoes during my student teaching has really done a number on my feet.  I have bought a few pairs that I thought were going to be comfy and have turned out to not be.  After wearing a cute (but killer) pair of heels to school and standing for an entire hour during an assembly, I limped home and ordered a pair of Crocs that I've been eyeing for a while.

These are the Marnie Sparkle.  Cute and stylish with the sparkles and oh so comfy!  Even after standing on my feet all day long, my feet still feel great.  They have little massaging nubs on the inside that feel really good and are supposed to stimulate circulation.  The only problem I have had with these shoes is that they make my feet sweet if I don't wear socks.  They are the rubber material and don't have any circulation holes so my feet get really sweaty.  But it's a small price to pay for comfort, in my opinion.

I'm seriously considering getting the regular Marnie in brown/mushroom.  This way I can just alternate between the two.  They are that comfortable!

Do you know of any other cute shoes that are comfortable too?  I don't know if my poor feet will ever be the same after this!

Spring is Almost Here!

To celebrate the fact that spring is fast approaching, I refreshed my handsoap and wallflower refills at Bath and Body Works yesterday.  I was looking for light, fresh scents and think I found some good ones!

Kitchen Lemon.  I've bought this one before and love it.  It has a very refreshing, clean scent that is perfect for the kitchen!

Fresh Picked Strawberries.  This is a new scent, at least to me.  Very light, sweet berry fragrance and the green gingham on the label is just darling!

Caribbean Escape.  My new favorite!  It really does remind me of a tropical getaway.  The fragrance is floral and a little fruity with a coconut note.  (Don't I sound like I actually know what I'm talking about?)  I loved it so much that I got the wallflower refills in this scent.  Now my house will smell like a tropical escape!

Fresh Market Apple.  Not necessarily a spring scent, but I love it anytime of the year.  Fresh apple fragrance.  Yummy!

Twilight Woods.  I've been using this fragrance all winter, but I am so attached that I just can't give it up yet.  Makes me want to take a romantic walk through the enchanted woods!

Bath and Body Works is having a good sale, so if you need handsoaps it's a good time to get them!

Some Much Needed R&R

It's finally here....SPRING BREAK!!!!!  Can you tell I'm excited? ;)  Student teaching has literally taken over my life.  By the time that I pick the kids up and get home around 5pm each day, there's dinner, homework, baths, and a million other things to get finished before I start planning lessons and prepping for school the next day.  I don't have time for anything anymore.  I love it, don't get me wrong, but it is really hard to balance everything.  A break couldn't have come at a better time!

This week I am planning on posting several posts and catching up on reading my favorite blogs.  I am so sorry that I haven't been reading or commenting on your blogs lately.  Again, zero time.  I'm so glad that I'll get caught back up this week!  Don't give up on me!

Abby is in Perryton spending some time with my parents, so Wyatt and I got to spend some time together today.  I did take him to day care for a little while because he has finally adjusted and is doing well and I would hate to get him out of the routine only to start all over next week.

I got some cleaning and organizing done today, and I also did some shopping.  Mainly grocery shopping, but I did manage to make it to Bath and Body Works for some hand soaps and Wallflower refills.  More on that tomorrow.

I'm planning on having another one of my spa days this week too.  Bring on the rest and relaxation!

More post to come soon!
