Favorite Workout Tips


It's day 3 of 11 in 2011 and today's topic is: Favorite Workout Tips

I'm currently on the road to getting back in shape so I may not be the best person to be offering workout advice, but before I became pregnant with my son, I worked out a lot. 

Walking is my favorite way of getting and staying in shape.  I try and boost up my walking regimen by alternating walking super fast for a couple of minutes, then slowing down for a couple, then speeding up, slowing down, you get the idea.  I've heard that walking sideways and backwards exercises different muscles, but I haven't tried it because I usually walk in my neighborhood and don't want my neighbors to think I'm looney!

We recently joined a gym, so I'm hoping this will add some more variety to my walking program.  I like lifting light weights to add some tone to my limbs. 

Oh, and working out with a friend is also great motivation and makes time go by faster!

My tip would be to just do it. I am getting ready to go swimming now and sure do not want to. But if I just get dressed, defrost my car, and go I will get it done. But boy I can be so easily talked out of it :)

Working out with a friend is the best. You can chat with them and they can keep you motivated.

I work out with the boyfriend to keep me motivated :) and I LOVE walking. My boyfriend likes to run but I am definitely a walker.
