Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

This is my first time linking up with Carissa at lowercase letters, but I thought I should since I'm all about random posts!

1. Back to the Grind!
Today was my daughter Abby's first day back to school after winter break, and boy, it was not a fun morning!  She did not like getting up after sleeping in for two weeks.  Hopefully tomorrow morning will go much smoother.

2. The Reading List
Wyatt and I headed to the library to pick up some books that I have been wanting to read, and I was lucky enough to find all four on my list!  Since I have a few weeks before I start student teaching orientations and seminars, I thought I would try and get in a little reading this week.

3. Organization in the New Year
To start 2011 on the right foot, I decided to tackle the one area of my house that scares me the most...my craft closet.  It was at the point that I was literally just opening the door, throwing stuff in, and closing the door really quick so I didn't have to face it.

4. Sewing Projects
I have several sewing projects (and yards of fabric) calling my name, so I figure I'll get going on a few today.
My friend Bre is due to have a baby any day now, so I'm making these for her new bundle of joy:

I made some for my nephew for Christmas and failed to take a picture, but these are what they'll look like (with different fabrics, of course).

I'm also going to make these ruffle pants for Abby...

with this fabric...

(It's much prettier in person, this picture doesn't do it justice.  I'll be sure and post pictures when I'm finished!)

 Happy Monday!!

Aren't little girls fun to cloth in cute, frilly things??

The material is adorable!
